Basketball Recap: El Rancho Snaps 12-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask El Rancho). They put the hurt on the Rosemead Panthers with a sharp 65-41 win on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but the Dons were the (much) better team in the second half.

El Rancho was led to victory by Adam Rivas and Troy Barajas. Rivas went 8 of 11 on his way to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks, while Barajas went 6 for 12 on his way to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Barajas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Picon, who posted eight points.

El Rancho's victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3. As for Rosemead, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Rancho will face off against Baldwin Park at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. El Rancho has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Rosemead will take on Mountain View in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on December 18th at.
