Basketball Recap: Cory-Rawson Takes a Loss

Cory-Rawson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fostoria Redmen. The Fighting Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Redmen from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Fostoria's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alycia Middlebrooks, who went 8 for 15 on her way to 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Middlebrooks has scored at least a third of Fostoria's points. Lyrique Johnson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards.

Cory-Rawson's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Fostoria, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cory-Rawson will take on Ridgedale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cory-Rawson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Fostoria, they will challenge Otsego at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Otsego has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with ten straight defeats, while Fostoria will come in with four straight wins.
