The Leake Central Gators 's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Northeast Lauderdale 51-48. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Leake Central also won the last time the pair played two weeks ago.
Leake Central found their leader in underclassman Ty'lan Fortune, who scored 21 points.
Leake Central's win bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Northeast Lauderdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-9.
Leake Central will head out on the road to face off against South Pontotoc at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Pontotoc is coming into the match with seven straight defeats at home, meaning Leake Central will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Northeast Lauderdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
