Baseball Recap: Northland Prep Academy Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Northland Prep Academy lost against Kingman Academy back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spartans took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

Colson Skersick was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Skersick was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Blayden Cosper was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Wyatt Massey was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Northland Prep Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5. As for Kingman Academy, they moved to 7-11-1 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Northland Prep Academy will square off against St. Johns at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kingman Academy, they will host Mountainside at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
