Baseball Recap: Roosevelt's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Roosevelt had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 5-6 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Firestone Falcons. That's more bragging rights for the Rough Riders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Owen Puhalla looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Brian Dugan was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Ryan Sanders was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

As for Firestone, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4. The contest marked their lowest-scoring match so far this season.

On Firestone's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennen Hostler, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will square off against Stow-Munroe Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Firestone, they will challenge McKinley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
