On Friday, Wasatch faced Timpview in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Wasatch Wasps narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Timpview Thunderbirds 45-42. The victory was nothing new for the Wasps as they're now sitting on three straight.

It was another big night for Mahala Speredon, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 17 points and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Anna Greenwell, who posted seven points.

Wasatch was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timpview only racked up nine assists.

Timpview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Livi Eyre, who went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds. Lina Ballin was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Wasatch is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Timpview, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Cedar Valley the next time they take the court. Timpview will host Cedar Valley at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Wasatch will head out to face them at 5:15 p.m. on February 7th.
