Basketball Game Preview: South Laurel Cardinals vs. Danville Admirals

The South Laurel Cardinals will face off against the Danville Admirals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in South Laurel's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Danville has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

Last Monday, South Laurel strolled past Russell County with points to spare, taking the game 56-41. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Lakers are ranked 94th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Danville lost to West Jessamine at home by a 51-34 margin on Tuesday.

South Laurel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points over those games. As for Danville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-17.
