Softball Recap: Ferguson Comes Up Short

Ferguson suffered their closest defeat since March 13th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lourdes Academy by a score of 8-6. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 11-8 to Lourdes Academy when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ferguson got a good showing from Ashley Barroso, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Barroso gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in March.

At the plate, Briana Canahuate made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Andreaneliz Rivera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Ferguson's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Lourdes Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Ferguson will face off against Braddock at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lourdes Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-2 defeat against American on the 9th.
