Preview: Meigs Marauders vs. Nelsonville-York Buckeyes
The Meigs Marauders will head out on the road to face off against the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Meigs earned a 52-42 victory over Athens.
Meanwhile, Nelsonville-York scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They snuck past Eastern with a 70-64 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Nelsonville-York.
Nelsonville-York can attribute much of their success to Alec Thompson, who scored 25 points, and Keagan Swope, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The matchup was Swope's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bean Martin, who scored three points.
The win got Meigs back to even at 2-2. Nelsonville-York's record now sits at 3-1.
Meigs came up short against Nelsonville-York when the teams last played back in January, falling 63-50. Can Meigs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
