Baseball Recap: Palmer Trinity Gets the Win

Palmer Trinity proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the South Dade Buccaneers 7-6.

Jaden Butler was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Matthew Echevarria was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Palmer Trinity's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for South Dade, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Falcons face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stoneman Douglas' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Palmer Trinity's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Dade, they will challenge Keys Gate at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
