There's no place like home for Chattanooga Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the East Ridge Pioneers on Thursday as Chattanooga Central made off with an 18-1 win. Considering the Pounders have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Marisa Salinas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since March 4th. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kennedi Sabb was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since March 4th. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlynn Cunningham, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Chattanooga Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in five consecutive matches.
Chattanooga Central pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
