Baseball Recap: Lancaster Has No Trouble Against Desoto

Lancaster never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the DeSoto Eagles with a sharp 9-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Derrick Chatman II made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lancaster is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 11-12 otherwise. Chatman II was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leo Leiva, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Anthony Jimenez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

The win got Lancaster back to even at 13-13. As for DeSoto, they dropped their record down to 3-18 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

As of now, neither Lancaster nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
