Two dominant guards in Ethan Parker and Lukas Worster are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Walthill Blujays will head out on the road to take on the Nebraska Lutheran Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Saturday, Walthill came up short against Ponca and fell 55-42. While losing is never fun, Walthill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Ponca is ranked 32nd).
Adrian Phillips put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 15 points. Parker was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Nebraska Lutheran was able to grind out a solid win over St. Francis on Saturday, taking the game 52-43.
Lucas Corwin had an outrageously good game as he scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Silas Vogel, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and eight blocks.
Walthill has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-4 record this season. As for Nebraska Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Walthill lost to Nebraska Lutheran on the road by a decisive 77-60 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Walthill, Trey Richert (who scored 29 points along with five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
