Baseball Recap: Zion Christian Wins Going Away Against Heritage Christian Academy

Zion Christian got themselves on the board against Heritage Christian Academy on Thursday, but Heritage Christian Academy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Isaac Moes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Ian DeRuiter was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Levi Kloosterman was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Zion Christian's record now sits at 20-6. As for Heritage Christian Academy, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Zion Christian beat the Eagles by a score of 5-2 later that day.
