Basketball Recap: Hempstead Takes a Loss

Hempstead lost against Kennedy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hempstead Mustangs were dealt an 83-47 defeat at the hands of the Kennedy Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Cougars are ranked sixth).

This is the second loss in a row for Hempstead and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Kennedy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Jefferson the next time they take the court. Kennedy will head out to face Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Hempstead will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
