Baseball Recap: Lincoln Victorious

Lincoln lost to Pensacola Catholic back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Trojans walked away with a 7-3 win over the Crusaders.

Eyhan LaFuria tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has become a key player for Lincoln: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Lincoln got a big performance out of Cody Garber, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Koch, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Pensacola Catholic, they moved to 11-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Lincoln wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-6 loss against Houston County on the 31st. As for Pensacola Catholic, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-1 win against Escambia on the 31st.
