Volleyball Game Preview: Owen-Withee Blackhawks vs. Gilman Pirates

The Owen-Withee Blackhawks will square off against the Gilman Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Owen-Withee is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since September 16th last Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Stanley-Boyd. The defeat continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their meetings with the Orioles: they've now lost three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-15, 25-15.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gilman, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Assumption on Tuesday. The Pirates not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 2nd (when they won 3-0).

While Gilman won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 27-25, 25-12.

Gilman pushed their record up to 11-15 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Owen-Withee, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
