Softball Recap: Jones Comes Up Short

Jones lost to Gregory-Portland back in February of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Trojans fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jones saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carolynn Rivas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Jones now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Gregory-Portland, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jones will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Tuloso-Midway at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gregory-Portland, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Corpus Christi Moody at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
