Basketball Recap: Magnolia School of Excellence Takes a Loss

Magnolia School of Excellence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 74-70 heartbreaker at the hands of D'Arbonne Woods. While losing is never fun, Magnolia School of Excellence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while D'Arbonne Woods is ranked 172nd).

Magnolia School of Excellence's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for D'Arbonne Woods, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Magnolia School of Excellence has already played their next match (against Homer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. D'Arbonne Woods will face off against Green Oaks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Oaks knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully D'Arbonne Woods likes a good challenge.
