Soccer Game Preview: Bryan County vs. Portal

The Bryan County Redskins will square off against the Portal Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bryan County's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Bryan County fell victim to Screven County and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gamecocks. While losing is never fun, Bryan County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Screven County are ranked 127th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Portal took on Claxton on Friday. Portal was the clear victor by a 5-2 margin over Claxton. The result was nothing new for Portal, who have now won eight matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Claxton with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Colby Stewart (3), Maggie Brannen, and Serenity Williams.

The victory made it two in a row for Portal and bumps their season record up to 8-2. As for Bryan County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
