Volleyball Recap: Hollister Takes a Loss

Hollister was the 2-1 winner over Wilcox when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Haybalers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers on Friday. The Haybalers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kevin De La Cruz paced Hollister's offense, picking up three kills. De La Cruz got some help from Gabe Arrendondo and his four assists.

Leading Wilcox to victory were Jonah Shih and Hideki Gaja. Shih had three digs and one block, while Gaja had 12 assists.

Hollister's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Wilcox, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Hollister didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Santa Cruz on the 29th. As for Wilcox, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Sanger on the 29th.
