Abby Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddy Tabakian, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Kensington English also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Voorheesville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Schalmont.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Voorheesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Voorheesville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Voorheesville keep running through batters, or will the Ravens buck the trend?
Everything went Voorheesville's way against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk in their previous meeting back in April, as Voorheesville made off with a 13-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blackbirds since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
