After a string of four wins, San Marino's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 64-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the La Serna Lancers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Titans came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Lancers are ranked 467th).

San Marino's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for La Serna, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Marino will welcome Flintridge Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. San Marino knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Flintridge Prep likes a good challenge. As for La Serna, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against El Rancho at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
