The Farmington Phoenix will challenge the Layton Lancers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Farmington's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Roy as they made off with a 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Phoenix, who have now won nine contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Lill Topham tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Farmington got a massive performance out of Kiley Gazafy, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Ruby Andrus was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Farmington hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four game, Layton brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They put the hurt on Corner Canyon with a sharp 17-0 victory on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Lancers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Serenity Overton, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Megan Child, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Layton's victory bumped their record up to 4-18. As for Farmington, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Farmington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .395. However, it's not like Layton struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Farmington's way against Layton in their previous matchup back in April, as Farmington made off with a 13-3 victory. Will the Phoenix repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
