Recap: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. DC International Dragons
The Roosevelt Roughriders gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past DC International 45-43.
Roosevelt can attribute much of their success to Simmons Taniesha, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelis Williams, who scored 9 points along with 5 steals.
Eva Waters and Kai Davis certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Waters scored 22 points along with 4 steals, while Davis dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Waters is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for DC International, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-9 record last season and are now at 1-3.
Roosevelt will look to defend their home court on Friday against Friendship Collegiate Academy at 5:30 p.m. DC International is on the road again on Friday and play against DuVal at 5:30 p.m. on December 8th.
