Baseball Recap: New Smyrna Beach Sets Scoring Season-High Against Taylor

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Smyrna Beach). They put the hurt on the Taylor Wildcats with a sharp 14-3 win on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Barracudas considering their two-run performance the game before.

James Kobylanski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with four RBI.

In other pitching news, Brendan Williams looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Teague Carosella and Jesse Brock did most of the damage at the plate: Carosella scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances, while Brock scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon McLain, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.
