Basketball Recap: Calvary Day School Falls Despite Big Games from Owen Calvert and Dane Cassada

After flying high against Westchester Country Day last Wednesday, Calvary Day School came back down to earth. The Calvary Day School Cougars took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greensboro Day School Bengals on Friday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Bengals recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Calvary Day School's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dane Cassada, who posted 20 points, and Owen Calvert, who had 17 points. The matchup was Calvert's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Carson Barnett was another key player, putting up three points and five rebounds.

Calvary Day School's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Greensboro Day School, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.
