Softball Recap: Portageville Victorious

The Portageville Bulldogs were able to grind out a solid win over the Advance Hornets on Monday, taking the game 13-10.

Kate Murphy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Murphy was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Peyton Carlisle was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Bryleigh Adams was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Portageville's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Advance, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Portageville is taking a road trip to square off against South Pemiscot at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Pemiscot will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Portageville surely won't give up without a fight. Advance has already played their next match (against Risco), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
