Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Windthorst

Windthorst waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Seymour Panthers get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-1 on March 12th.

Delaney Ashley made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Jayln Benson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Camille Cabrera was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Windthorst's victory bumped their record up to 10-6-1. As for Seymour, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Windthorst will head out to challenge Petrolia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Pirates have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games. As for Seymour, they are taking a road trip to square off against Electra at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.31 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
