Volleyball Game Preview: St. Charles East Fighting Saints vs. Glenbard South Raiders

St. Charles East hasn't had much luck against Glenbard South recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Fighting Saints will welcome the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Glenbard South will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: St. Charles East extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Fighting Saints came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against St. Charles North.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day St. Charles East got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 23-25, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Glenbard South had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Rebels.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Glenbard South who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 19-25, 30-28.

The victory got Glenbard South back to even at 9-9. As for St. Charles East, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 15-9.
