Volleyball Recap: Shady Spring Comes Up Short at Home Against Morgantown

Shady Spring unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 2-0 to the Morgantown Mohigans on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled against the Mohigans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

While Shady Spring was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21.

Alivia Stover paced Shady Spring's offense, picking up six kills. Stover got some help from Reagan Mann and her eight assists. Alessandra (Allie) Fragile controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Coincidentally, Shady Spring and Morgantown will both be playing Independence the next time they take the court. The Mohigans will head out to face the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
