Baseball Recap: Elysian Fields Comes Up Short

Union Grove hit Elysian Fields with a six-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Lions by a score of 7-6. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

John Beavers made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Elysian Fields' defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Union Grove, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
