The regular season is over, the playoff pairings are set and the next six weeks will determine the 2013 UIL Texas state champions in 12 divisions and six classifications.

The playoff road leads to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, site of all state finals on Dec. 14 and Dec. 19-21.

Divisions within the classifications are based on enrollment rather than seeding, so not all of the MaxPreps Texas Top 25 will compete in one division.

The Class 5A Division I bracket contains seven of the state's top 10.

No. 1 DeSoto, No. 4 Carroll (Southlake) and No. 8 Coppell are grouped together in a loaded Region I.

DeSoto could possibly face Coppell in the second round and Carroll in the fourth, just as it did last year.

No. 2 Allen, the 2012 Class 5A Division I state champion, landed on the opposite side of the Region II bracket from No. 6 Spring Westfield (Houston) and No. 12 Skyline (Dallas). Allen defeated Skyline in the regional final a year ago.

No. 3 Katy is positioned nicely in Region III for an attempt at defending its 2012 Class 5A Division II state title. Manvel is the only other ranked team in its region and the two could not meet until the fourth round. Katy dominated this region a year ago with winning margins of 70, 49, 45 and 49 points.

In the San Antonio area, it is the Class 5A Division II bracket that is most daunting with No. 9 Steele (Cibolo), No. 11 Smithson Valley and No. 18 Reagan (San Antonio). The big three in Region IV have a combined record of 29-1.

Reagan and Steele, the 2012 regional champ, could collide in the second round.

7. Lamar (Houston) 9-0 (7)

14. Hendrickson (Pflugerville) 10-0 (14)
Coming off a Week 10 open date, the Hawks are ready to make a playoff impact. An unbeaten regular season is no fluke with only one win coming by less than 14 points. The running of Oklahoma pledge Samaje Perine (1,436 yards, 11 touchdowns) and Tazh Maloy (854 yards, 16 touchdowns) is an excellent compliment to a defense that has posted three shutouts. The Hawks in a Class 5A Division II bi-district playoff will face 6-4 Westlake (Austin) Friday in Cedar Park.

15. Cedar Hill 8-2 (15)
Leading only 13-0 at halftime, the Longhorns' Elijah Moore broke a 63-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second half, sending Cedar Hill to a 40-14 victory over 4-6 Midlothian. Moore's touchdown ignited a 21-point spree in a seven-minute stretch of the third period. 25. Martin (Arlington) 8-2 (NR)
The Warriors got four wins in a period of three days last week. The UIL overturned a district committee ruling that Martin must forfeit three games for an ineligible player and the rejuvenated Warriors then clobbered 7-3 Bowie (Arlington) 47-18 thanks in part to two Eric Walker to Michael Wilson touchdown passes. Jalum Bouldin ran for two scores. The Warriors face 5-5 Central (Keller) in a Class 5A Division I bi-district playoff Thursday at Mansfield's Vernon Newsom Stadium.
