Preview: Hackleburg Panthers vs. Vina Red Devils
Hackleburg is 9-0 against Vina since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Hackleburg Panthers will play host again and welcome the Vina Red Devils, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Hackleburg will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Hackleburg put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 46-7 victory over Shoals Christian at home. With Hackleburg ahead 32-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Hackleburg's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Blaise Vickery, who rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns, and Davin Dulaney, who rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Dulaney was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards. Hackleburg also got help from Cameron Ingram who showed off his sure hands for 84 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Vina, who are still winless after their seventh match. They were outmatched by Meek on the road and fell 46-8.
Hackleburg's win was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.9 points per game. As for Vina, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Everything came up roses for Hackleburg against Vina in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 44-6 win. Will Hackleburg repeat their success, or does Vina have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
