Preview: St. Francis Sharks vs. Monte Vista Christian Mustangs
The St. Francis Sharks will be playing at home against the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Last Friday, St. Francis was the victim of a tough 49-28 loss at the hands of Seaside. St. Francis has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Monte Vista Christian can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-19 win over Watsonville at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Monte Vista Christian.
It was another big night for Dominic Pierini, who threw for 486 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punched in a rushing score. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Downie, who picked up 222 receiving yards and a touchdown.
St. Francis' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.3 points per game. As for Monte Vista Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Everything came up roses for St. Francis against Monte Vista Christian when the teams last played back in August of 2022 as the team secured a 28-0 victory.
