Softball Recap: Arcola Has No Trouble Against Cerro Gordo/Bement

Arcola won the last time they faced Cerro Gordo/Bement and things went their way on Thursday too. The Purple Riders put the hurt on the Broncos with a sharp 9-2 win.

Kacie Sisk made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ema Simpson, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Kaydence Nichols was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

Arcola was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cerro Gordo/Bement only posted a batting average of .154.

Arcola's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
