Amboy came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 49-41 win over the Marquette Crusaders. That's more bragging rights for the Clippers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Amboy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. As for Marquette, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 9-5.

Amboy and Newman Central Catholic will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Marquette, they will head out on the road to challenge LaSalle-Peru at 12:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
