Taylor Smith was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 contests. Another player making a difference was Shylah Pino, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Seminole ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Boone 3-2. The Seminoles haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Ava Matthews spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maggie Long, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Alexandra Steffano was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Apopka pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Seminole, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
Seminole's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Apopka has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .517.
