Baseball Recap: Parsons Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Parsons Christian Academy came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Old Plank Christian Academy Defenders, falling 20-14. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Defenders: they've now lost six in a row.

Christian Ennis and Matthew Winans did some serious damage despite the final result: Ennis scored a run and stole six bases while going 3-for-4, while Winans scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave Winans a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anthony Glenn, who scored two runs and stole five bases.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Parsons Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they post 11 or more hits.

Parsons Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Old Plank Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season.
