Baseball Recap: Show Low's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Show Low was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Alchesay last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell just short of the Holbrook Roadrunners by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Cougars were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Roadrunners' pitchers proved too tough.

Show Low saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kash Perkins, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Show Low's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Holbrook, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 9-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Show Low will square off against Snowflake at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holbrook, they will take on Page at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Roadrunners' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sand Devils have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
