Softball Recap: Lawrence County Snags 12th Victory in Last 14 Games

The matchup between Lawrence County and James Clemens on Saturday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Jets. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.

Emily Byars looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Lawrence County got a massive performance out of Alyce LouAllen, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave LouAllen a new career-high. Bella Cross was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Lawrence County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Lawrence County is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-9-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for James Clemens, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-19-2 record this season.

Lawrence County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-4 victory against Deshler on the 12th. As for James Clemens, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 loss against Hatton on the 12th.
