Basketball Recap: Memorial Comes Up Short

Memorial fought the good fight in their overtime game against Boswell on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boswell Pioneers. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while the Pioneers are ranked 180th).

Memorial has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Boswell, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-39 win against Vernon on the 10th. Boswell has also already played their next game, a 64-57 victory against Brewer on the 10th.
