Basketball Recap: Enloe Takes a Loss

Enloe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They took a blow against the Athens Drive Jaguars, falling 53-16. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 188th).

It was another big night for Kianna Gulley, who posted 14 points and three steals for Athens Drive. Makenzie Kelly was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Enloe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Athens Drive, they moved to 10-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Enloe will head out to take on Cardinal Gibbons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal Gibbons has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Athens Drive, they are taking a road trip to square off against Sanderson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Athens Drive is facing Sanderson at the right time seeing as Sanderson is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
