Basketball Recap: Redeemer Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jackson Lafirst and Graidy Hughes

Redeemer Christian lost against Meadowbrook Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Redeemer Christian Lions came up short against the Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs , falling 60-34. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-6.

Redeemer Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Graidy Hughes, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Jackson LaFirst, who posted nine points. The dominant performance also gave Hughes a new career-high in assists (four). Sam DiBlasi also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Meadowbrook Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Charske led the charge by going 6 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and six boards. Charske is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gaige Daugherty, who had seven points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Redeemer Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Meadowbrook Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
