Softball Recap: Ferndale Comes Up Short

Ferndale lost against Everett back in May of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Golden Eagles lost 12-1 to the Seagulls. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ferndale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ari Gilday, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Gilday hit this season.

Ferndale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Everett, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Ferndale will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sedro-Woolley at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th. The Cubs will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Golden Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Everett, they are taking a road trip to take on Marysville Getchell at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Everett's pitchers better be ready for this one: Marysville Getchell has averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
