Basketball Recap: Foster Extends Winning Streak to Three

Foster had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 45-34 victory over the Alief Hastings Bears. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Bears are ranked 1085th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Foster's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaron Martin, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Stephanson, who put up nine points and six boards.

Foster smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alief Hastings only pulled down one offensive rebound.

When it comes to explaining why Alief Hastings lost, don't look at Giovanni Bernal. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 8 en route to 11 points.

Foster's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Alief Hastings, they dropped their record down to 3-19 with the loss, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Strake Jesuit the next time they take the court. Alief Hastings will host Strake Jesuit at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Foster will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th.
