Baseball Recap: Tussey Mountain Titans vs. Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels

Tussey Mountain had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-7 to make it four. They fell just short of the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels by a score of 9-7. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Black Knights/Damsels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Tussey Mountain saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Myers, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Camden Chilcote was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Moshannon Valley, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

On Moshannon Valley's side, Mason Abernethy was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The Black Knights/Damsels are 4-2 when Abernethy posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Chase Mital, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Tussey Mountain will face off against Forbes Road at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Moshannon Valley, they will take on Conemaugh Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
