Football Recap: Capital Bruins vs. Sentinel Spartans

With a playoff game on the line, Capital rose to the challenge on Friday. They claimed a resounding 50-18 victory over the Sentinel Spartans. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won eight matches by 21 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Merek Mihelish, who threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 94 yards on only six carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 50 yards. Drew Almquist was another key player, gaining 125 total yards and three touchdowns.

Capital was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Capital wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 35-6 victory against Billings West on the 15th. Sentinel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
