Softball Recap: Chambers Cougars vs. West Charlotte Lions
Chambers extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-10-1. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Charlotte Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-20 on Tuesday.
As for West Charlotte, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.5 runs over those games.
For West Charlotte's part, Briana Moultry was a standout: she got on base in both of her plate appearances with six stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Taylor Blocker, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three stolen bases.
Chambers wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 23-5 loss against Ashbrook on the 23rd. Hopefully West Charlotte paid attention to the Cougars' game: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
