The Floresville Tigers/Jaguars are taking a road trip to face off against the Pleasanton Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Floresville sitting on five straight wins and Pleasanton on 17.
On Thursday, Floresville got the win against Carrizo Springs by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers/Jaguars, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jacob Guevara made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Floresville got a massive performance out of Austin Beyer, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases Beyer has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bryan Cardenas, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Floresville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Pleasanton came out on top against Pearsall on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Eagles never let the Mavericks get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Elijah Haren, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Erik Coronado was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Pleasanton pushed their record up to 23-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Floresville, their record is now 17-9.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Floresville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .461. However, it's not like Pleasanton struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Floresville couldn't quite finish off Pleasanton in their previous matchup back in March and fell 3-1. Can the Tigers/Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
